Rick Dunn will discuss opportunities for the window industry to join other industries in participating with national programs testing and promoting energy efficient products, leveraging IRA dollars in the process. He’ll also debunk myths about window impacts on envelope UA and share a case study highlighting how low-income builders like Habitat for Humanity are using high triple pane windows to outperform green builders by achieving higher energy performance at lower construction costs.

Speaker Rick Dunn will discuss opportunities for the window industry to join other industries in participating with national programs testing and promoting energy efficient products, leveraging IRA dollars in the process. He’ll also debunk myths about window impacts on envelope UA and share a case study highlighting how low-income builders like Habitat for Humanity are using high triple pane windows to outperform green builders by achieving higher energy performance at lower construction costs. Learning Objectives: - Learning objective: Learn about opportunities for window manufacturers to engage with energy efficiency programs and national efficiency organizations, leveraging IRA dollars to promote high performance windows.
- Learning objective: debunk myths about windows and insulation – using building science to demonstrate the greater impact of high-performance windows, relative to insulation, for overall UA value and achieving above-code performance targets.
- Learning objective: high-performance windows are often considered too expensive and of insufficient value for residential new construction. A Habitat for Humanity case study demonstrates how high-performance windows can actually reduce the cost of construction – without rebates or incentives – and deliver a more efficient home in the process.
