The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) will provide online training for those wishing to become Approved Calculation Entities (ACE) within the
Component Modeling Approach Program (CMA). The training will begin at
1:00 PM EDT on November 12, 2013 and is scheduled to last for three hours.
NFRC ACEs will be authorized to configure whole fenestration
products and calculate U-factor, Solar Heat Gain Coefficient, and Visible
Transmittance ratings using CMAST for those products seeking NFRC certification
in the CMA Product Certification Program (CMA-PCP). This training session
will include use of the latest version of CMAST. It requires that
participants download the CMAST software prior to the training session.
There will be a short review sessions during the training and a
take-home exam will be provided for aspiring ACE attendees to complete and
submit after training. A Certificate of Approval will be sent to those
ACE candidates who successfully pass the exam.
Because NFRC will use GoToMeeting, attendance will be limited
to the first 25 registrants. This will enable attendees to take advantage of
the program’s full functionality, which includes the ability to troubleshoot any
issues in real time. The trainees are responsible for having a working
computer and an internet connection.
Prior to the meeting, registered trainees will be provided with
information that has instructions on how to register on the CMAST Training Server.
They will register, download the appropriate software (Window, Therm &
CMAST). Should you have any questions, please contact Jen Padgett, NFRC’s
CMA Program Coordinator.
