NFRC Board Welcomes Three New Directors and Names Executive Committee

Greenbelt (MD), Feb. 22, 2023 --  

At a meeting of the National Fenestration Rating Council’s (NFRC) Board of Directors, Feb. 1-3, 2023, the board appointed its new Executive Committee and welcomed three new members to NFRC’s Board. Our Executive Committee actively supports our full Board in its oversight of NFRC’s operations and in setting strategy for the organization.  Through their service on this important committee, these individuals have demonstrated their commitment to assisting NFRC to achieve its important mission. 

The NFRC Executive Committee, which includes the NFRC CEO, Deb Callahan, also includes:

These three new board members bring diverse expertise and experience to our Board:

• Amy Boyce, Institute for Market Transformation
  As the Director of Codes and Technical Strategy with the Institute for Market Transformation (IMT), Amy develops and deploys local, state, and national level strategies for broad-scale transformation through codes and building technology.
  
  Amy also leads the Energy Efficient Codes Coalition, is a member of the Residential Consensus Committee for the development of the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and has served on ASHRAE’s Task Force on Building Decarbonization through the Building Performance Standards working group.
  
  

• David McDonald, Marvin
  David is a Code and Regulatory Affairs Specialist with Marvin and is based in Warroad, MN, where he has an advocacy role within industry trade associations, test standard development organizations, the ICC codes, and he participates in numerous other activities/projects that assist customers.  He graduated from the University of North Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Studies.  
  
  David spent time working for the City of Ontario, CA as a Senior Code Enforcement Officer and in Greenbush, MN for Central Boiler, Inc. in Environmental Relations prior to joining Marvin in 2014. He has been an active NFRC member since 2014, attending every NFRC meeting and serving on various task forces and committees.

• Julian Wang, Pennsylvania State University
  Julian Wang is an associate professor in Department of Architectural Engineering and an affiliate faculty member within the Department of Architecture and the Materials Research Institute at Penn State. He has previously worked at the University of Cincinnati, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and Tsinghua University in Beijing.
  
  Julian’s research focuses on interdisciplinary applications of building physics — especially photometry and radiometry — in sustainable, healthy, and interactive building environments by leveraging advanced data sensing and processing techniques and computational design methods.
