To become certified for ENERGY STAR each participant must complete the following steps in order.
Step 1: Pay the FenStar Application fee
- Login to the Certification Tool using your CPD login information,
- Click on the ENROLLMENT link to the left
- Select BEGIN FENSTAR ENROLLMENT
- Select REQUEST FENSTAR ENROLLMENT
- Pay the application fee HERE
- The FenStar application fee is Non-Refundable
- Step 2: Enroll in FenStar
- Return signed License Agreement
- License Agreement provided after the application fee has been paid via a downloadable link
- Complete the contact information sheet
- Nominate product lines for certification
- Pay participation fees
- An invoice for the fee will be sent after the license agreement is signed and returned
Step 3: Upload Required Certification Documentation (visit the licensee resources page for additional information)

- ENERGY STAR Label
- ***These labels will be available after step 4 and may be omitted from the original uploads)
- Permanent Label
- Air Leakage Documentation
- Installation Instructions
- Step 4: Become an ENERGY STAR Partner
- Step 5: Document Review and Certification
- Staff will review the documentation and issue a FenStar Certificate of Authorization
- After the certificate is issued, licensees may begin labeling and marketing certified products as ENERGY STAR
