NFRC's Tom Herron Appointed to Cool Roof Rating Council's Board of Directors
Greenbelt (MD), Sept. 27, 2023 -- The National Fenestration Rating Council's (NFRC) Senior Director of Market Transformation, Tom Herron, was recently appointed to the Cool Roof Rating Council’s (CRRC) Board of Directors as a General Interest Member.
He will serve the remainder of a term left open by an outgoing director and run for re-election in the summer of 2024.
“Tom’s expertise in third-party certification will bring a valuable perspective to our organization,” said Jeff Steuben, CRRC’s Executive Director. “As we look to the future, his insights will help the CRRC chart a course towards greater sustainability, transparency, and continued success."
Having been with NFRC for 17 years, Herron’s career has been marked by his dedication to developing relationships and collaborating with like-minded organizations to enhance energy efficient practices and sustainability throughout the built environment.

Deb Callahan, NFRC’s CEO, sees the board appointment creating greater synergy between NFRC and CRRC.

“Sustainability is a driving force in modern architecture, and both organizations strive to create better structures through the building envelopes,” Callahan said. “This synergy positions us to leverage our respective knowledge and promises to create new opportunities.”
