DeBlock Calls for Research, BOD to Consider Research Development Fund

Posted By Tom Herron, National Fenestration Rating Council, Wednesday, April 10, 2013
During this morning’s open board meeting, Research and Technology Committee Chair, Dave DeBlock, encouraged the Board of Directors and the entire membership to develop research topics to improve the National Fenestration Rating Council’s (NFRC) ratings programs.

"It’s important for us to continue research and to apply our knowledge as we move forward,” DeBlock told the group.

NFRC’s CEO, Jim Benney, addressed DeBlock’s concern, saying the board will be considering a proposal later today to create a research development fund. In the absence of federal funding for 2013, the proposed fund would provide an alternative that enables NFRC to acquire funding through its own initiatives.

"We recognize the importance of research remaining a central part of NFRC’s work, Benney” said.
