The National Fenestration Rating Council Board of Directors has named two new members to serve a three-year term and reappointed two directors to serve second terms. The NFRC Board of Directors provides vision, direction and strategic planning leadership for the organization and ensures that programs and policies are in place to support the NFRC mission.

NFRC Document Public Review from May 5 to June 19, 2023
The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) Board of Directors approved four NFRC documents which are now open for public review according to the American National Standards Institute’s (ANSI) process. The public review and comment period are scheduled to run from May 5 to June 19, 2023. The four documents to be submitted for public review, comment, and the full ANSI consensus process are:

NFRC Board Welcomes Three New Directors and Names Executive Committee
At a meeting of the National Fenestration Rating Council’s (NFRC) Board of Directors, Feb. 1-3, 2023, the board appointed its new Executive Committee and welcomed three new members to NFRC’s Board. Our Executive Committee actively supports our full Board in its oversight of NFRC’s operations and in setting strategy for the organization. Through their service on this important committee, these individuals have demonstrated their commitment to assisting NFRC to achieve its important mission.

NFRC Participates in Solar Decathlon 2022 Design Challenge
The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) is excited to be involved in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon® 2022 Design Challenge with Steve Urich, senior director of programs, serving on the jury for the Retrofit Housing category. The Solar Decathlon is a 20-year-old competition that encourages college students worldwide to “design and build high-performance, low-carbon buildings that mitigate climate change and improve our quality of life through greater affordability, resilience, and energy efficiency.”

NFRC Members Elect Two New Directors to Board
The National Fenestration Ratings Council (NFRC) welcomes two newly elected members of the board of d irectors for t hree-year terms beginning in 202 2 — Helen Sanders of Technoform , North America, and Zachary Flora from the Center for Active Design. In November, m embers voted for the board slate to fill two seats that are to be vacated at the end of t he year. These seats represent two categories : commercial fenestration manufacturer /supplier and g eneral interest .

NFRC Recognizes Outstanding Contributions from Members in 2021
Today at its Fall Membership Meeting, the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) acknowledged the two members who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and shown determination to move NFRC projects and priorities forward. In addition, this year NFRC presented the first NFRC Sustainability Member of the Year. NFRC is grateful for the contributions of these award recipients.

NFRC Report Captures Potential for Energy-Efficient Commercial Windows
With architects, builders, and manufacturers facing growing pressure to ensure that windows, doors, and skylights reduce energy use, the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) is releasing a report on the potential benefits of high-efficiency windows in commercial buildings.
NFRC establishes energy-performance ratings for windows, doors, and skylights, which are referred to as fenestration. The study, funded by NFRC and, in part, the U.S. Department of Energy and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, was conducted by research firm Guidehouse, to assess the opportunities for energy-efficient commercial fenestration on a national scale. National Campaign to Modernize Homes
The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC), which establishes objective window, door, and skylight energy - performance ratings , is excited to support the recently announced national campaign to modernize and upgrade homes and commercial buildings to make the m more energy efficient .
On Monday, the White House announced new programs through the Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Government Service Agency that will invest federal money in projects that aim to make buildings affordable, resilient, and energy efficient including the Initiative for Better Energy, Emissions, and Equity (E3 Initiative). The E3 Initiative includes efforts to promote the widespread use of highly efficient windows and window attachments that improve comfort and reduce building energy use. Read More Industry
2021 Window Market Outlook, New Administration Changes for Fenestration
After a challenging 2020 for most companies, fenestration industry analysts predict the U.S. window and door industry will see a 25 percent increase and reach $34 billion in 2021, up from $27.2 billion in 2020, according to published reports.
